House Plants Pots & Indoor gardening

I want to grow house plants – need to know in detail about the pots for my house plants and types of house plants am searching for and tips on indoor gardening ( house plant care and maintenance ).

Indoor House plants Pots

House Plants pot selection :
Choose your pots or containers according to the house pant we are having or we are going to buy – means if the plant is large think about its roots size and visualize it what happens when the plant is placed in your pot and filled with potting soil – is there enough room for you plant to grow ? , whether the drainage holes in that pot is perfect . ask such question before we go for a pot or container for our house plant

Reuse of pots for house plants: if we are going to reuse the pots we should look out following.

  • if we are going to use a mud pot soak it in water for 3 to four hours after scrubbing the outer and inner area . as the pot is made of mud it may contain the absorbed fertilizers or salts and bacteria . so wash and soak it and use it
  • if we are going to use containers : use 1: 10 bleach and water to remove the moulds and bateria from that container so our cute house plants get its home free from infections. and again wash it to get clear from bleach.

Get the pot ready

After the above said procedure – now look out for the drainage holes in the pot . have some broken pieces previous pots and some coarse gravel . if we directly add the potting soil to the pot as the water drains the soil wil get away . so place the broken pieces of the house plants pot over the drainage hole in the pot and now add the coarse gravel over it and now its time for our potting soil place here with the plant.
